Some of the Jews hanging around in front of the Wailing Wall seized the opportunity provided by the arrival of Klaus Iohannis on location to hide behind Laura Codruţa Kovesi and peek at what he was doing.

She was just issuing in absentia arrest warrants without any reverence, for Israeli billionaire Beny Steinmetz, politician strategist Tal Silberstein and businessman Shimon Shevez, in the Remus Truică- Prince Paul of Romania case.

The other Jews, the ones who were hiding, were coordinated by an organization led by a guy who was the head of the Mossad for several years. That is why they were called spies, but also because they were peeking, perhaps wanting to make sure that any pledges made by Klaus Iohannis before the Wall of Wailing would be honored.

Therefore it is inaccurate to call them spies, because their function was to make sure that promises made to God are kept. Thus, when the DIICOT arrested them for espionage, it did not take into account their religious function.

Four Israeli citizens are being investigated by the DIICOT for having spied, in March 2016, on the communications of chief-prosecutor Laura Codruţa Kovesi, trying to intimidate her and to compromise her.

Two of them - Ron Weiner and David Geclowicz - have been detained for 30 days. The other two suspects, Dan Zorella and Avi Yanus, former intelligence officers, are co-founders and executives of Israeli private investigations firm Black Cube, a company which Meir Dagan - former Mossad (Israeli espionage) worked for between 2002-2011, according to Rise Project.

"This was a failed intimidation attempt", was the first reaction of the DNA chief-prosecutor, Laura Codruţa Kovesi.

The media alleges, quoting judicial sources, that initially, the four were denounced by the very father of Codruţa Kovesi, former prosecutor Ioan Lascu.

• Black Cube to The Times of Israel: "Our employees were gathering evidence on acts of corruption"

Black Cube yesterday denied the accusations of espionage, according to The Times of Israel, claiming that in fact the former Mossad employees were investigating suspicions of corruption within the Bucharest government and its agencies.

According to Black Cube, two employees have been arrested - Ron Weiner and David Geclowicz -, but in the case of the two former Israeli intelligence officers, Dan Zorella and Avi Yanus, the company claims that the information concerning their investigation is false.

"Recently, the company took out a contract in Romania on a project to collect evidence concerning serious acts of corruption within the government and its agencies. During this activity, two of the employees of the company were arrested after they discovered important information", according to a statement the company made to an Israeli publication, which also says: "All employees of the company complies with the country's laws, and the charges against them are unfounded and untrue. We have faith that the truth will out and that both of them will be released and will return home in the coming days".

Meir Dagan, former Mossad chief between 2002-2011, was an honorary chairman of Black Cube until three weeks ago, when he died. On September 10th, 2002 Ariel Sharon appointed Meir Dagan as head of the Intelligence and Special Missions Service. He was then revalidated for that position twice. During his time at the helm of the Mossad, he received praise in Israel and from international entities, including from the Arab world, digi24.ro writes.

During this period, the Mossad was credited with the elimination of major leaders of terrorist organizations.

On January 6th, 2011 Dagan ended his mission as director of the Mossad.

Former prime-minister Ariel Sharon used to say that "the specialty of Meir Dagan was to separate an Arab from their head".

While president Klaus Iohannis was visiting Israel in the beginning of March, the anti-corruption prosecutors have forwarded to the Braşov Court of Appeal the proposal for preventive detention in absentia of defendants Tal Silberstein, Shimon Shevez, Benjamin "Benny" Steinmetz and Moshe Agavi, in the case of the illegal retrocession of 47 hectares of land in the Snagov forest of the Băneasa farm, a case in which Remus Truică and prince Paul of Romania are also being investigated.

In December, the prosecutors of the National Anti-Corruption Department of Braşov have decided to prosecute Tal Silberstein, businessman, on charges of creation of an organized crime faction, influence peddling and complicity to money laundering; Shimon Shevez and Benjamin "Beny" Steinmetz, businessmen, on charges of creation of an organized crime faction, complicity to influence peddling and complicity to money laundering; Moshe Agavi, businessman, for committing the offense of joining an organized crime faction.

Prosecutors claim that, starting with November 2006, Remus Truică together with Tal Silberstein, Shimon Shevez, Benjamin "Benny" Steinmetz, Moshe Agavi (who later joined) and other individuals, have created an organized crime faction which was meant to acquire the entire wealth illegally claimed by defendant Prince Paul Philippe of Romania, by offering money/goods to people from authorities/ institutions which owned those properties, aiding and abetting the perpetration by these individuals of the offense of abuse in office, by making available and signing the necessary documents and by using their real influence on the public servants.

The National Anti-Corruption Department states: "In order to implement their criminal plan, defendant Prince Paul Philippe of Romania promised defendant Remus Truică and his associates in the criminal faction a very significant share, between 50% and 80%, of the value of the goods he was claiming in Romania and he later gave them the assets as he gradually gained their ownership, in exchange for the group intervening with civil servants who had roles in the reconstitution /retrocession of the ownership rights in Bucharest and in other Romanian counties or with the judges, with the end goal being to obtain the claimed assets and gain ownership.

From the time of its creation, the members of the group have been permanently involved in the criminal activity and have kept each other informed, directly or indirectly, on the evolution and on the status of achieving the goals pursued through the acts committed, deciding in common on the strategy to follow and finding together the most economically effective solutions for the group".

The PanamaPapers documents have recently revealed that Beny Steinmetz secretly owns another 20 hectares of land in Snagov. According to Rise Project, the Israeli magnate owns approximately 46 hectares on the outskirts of Bucharest, in Băneasa and Snagov - plots of land which have been partially seized by the National Anti-Corruption Department in the case of the fraudulent retrocessions pertaining to the Băneasa Royal Farm and the "Fundul Sacului" forest of Snagov.
