The unemployment rate in France has risen in the third quarter of 2015, reaching its highest level since 1997, according to the National Statistics Institute (INSEE) of Paris. Official data shows that this ratio reached 10.6% between July and September 2015, from 10.4% in Q2.
The number of people who want to work, but are not included in the unemployment statistics, is 1.4 million, 64,000 less than in Q3 2014, according to the INSEE.
Last week, the Ministry of Labor of Paris has announced that the number of people recorded as jobless has increased by 42,000 in October, to a record 3,589,800. The increase compared to the previous month was 1.2%, and compared to October 2014 - it was 3.7%.
France's GDP, which is the third largest economy in the Eurozone, has increased 0.3% in Q3 this year, after posting zero growth in the previous quarter.
