• April 1
- The National Bank of Romania announces that, as of March 31, 2025, the foreign exchange reserves at the National Bank of Romania stood at 61,993 million euros, compared to 62,593 million euros on February 28, 2025. The level of the gold reserve remained at 103.6 tons. Given the evolution of international prices, its value stood at 9,587 million euros. Romania's international reserves (currency plus gold) as of March 31, 2025 were 71,580 million euros, compared to 71,764 million euros on February 28, 2025.
- Euro - at the lowest exchange rate of the month against the leu: 4.9770 lei, a level that it will reach on April 4, according to NBR data.

- The franc reaches the minimum exchange rate of the month against our currency: 5.2114 lei, according to the BNR.
- The dollar - at the highest exchange rate of the month against our currency: 4.6059 lei, according to the BNR.
• April 3
- Teilor Holding, a group of companies that includes the luxury jewelry chain Teilor, Teilor Invest Exchange and the financial intermediation company Invest Intermed GF IFN (MoneyGold), lists on the BVB's Multilateral Trading System (SMT) two new bond issues, one in lei and one in euros, for a total value of almost 22 million lei.
- The Government adopts amendments to the Fiscal Code.
• April 7
- The Board of Directors of the National Bank of Romania decides to maintain the monetary policy interest rate at the level of 6.50% per year; maintaining the interest rate for the lending facility (Lombard) at 7.50% per annum and the interest rate for the deposit facility at 5.50% per annum;
maintaining the levels of the minimum reserve requirements for the liabilities in lei and in foreign currency of credit institutions.

- The Government adopts an emergency ordinance amending the legislation on the corporate governance of state-owned enterprises.
- The gram of gold, quoted at the minimum level of the month: 440.1817 lei, according to the NBR.
• April 9
- The euro reaches the maximum exchange rate of the month, against the leu: 4.9775 lei, a level that it will record on April 14, 16, 23, 28 and 30, according to NBR figures.
• April 11
- The National Bank of Romania (BNR) informs that, in the period January-February 2025, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of 4,809 million euros, compared to 2,600 million euros in the period January-February 2024. In its structure, the balance of goods recorded a deficit higher by 1,502 million euros, the balance of services - a surplus lower by 187 million euros, the balance of primary income - a deficit higher by 93 million euros, and the balance of secondary income - a surplus lower by 427 million euros.

- The Ministry of Energy launches a call for projects to improve the energy efficiency of industrial installations, with a budget of 150 million euros
- The Ministry of Energy announces the launch of the public consultation for a new call dedicated to the private sector - the second call for projects for the production of electricity from renewable sources for self-consumption. With a budget of 300 million euros, the call is intended to support companies, including those from agriculture and the food industry, to produce their own clean energy, under more flexible eligibility conditions.

- The franc reaches the maximum exchange rate of the month against our currency: 5.3816 lei, according to BNR data.
• April 22
- The dollar - at the lowest exchange rate of the month against our currency: 4.3291 lei, according to BNR.
- The gram of gold reaches the maximum price of the month: 480.8399 lei, according to the National Bank of Romania.
• April 25
- The Ministry of Finance announces that the budget deficit reached 43.66 billion lei, or 2.28% of GDP in the first three months of 2025, compared to 35.88 billion lei, or 2.04% of GDP in the same period in 2024.
- The National Bank of Romania announces that the broad money supply (M3) recorded, at the end of March 2025, a balance of 739,806.8 million lei. This increased by 0.4% (0.1% in real terms) compared to February 2025, and compared to March 2024 it increased by 9% (3.9% in real terms).
• April 30
- The Supreme Council of National Defense (CSAT) takes place, with interim president Ilie Bolojan announcing that the Minister of National Defense, Angel Tîlvăr, has been mandated to assume, on behalf of Romania, the phased increase in the Defense budget until 2030.
- The BET index, of the 20 most liquid stocks on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), declined by 2% in April, to 17,157 points, while the BET-BK index, the benchmark for the performance of equity investment funds, fell by 1.8%, to 3,195 points.
- Hidroelectrica shares depreciated by 4.22% in April, while Nuclearelectrica shares increased by 1.64%.
- OMV Petrom shares fell by 3.1%.
- Antibiotice shares depreciated by 7.5% last month, continuing the downward trend that began at the end of last year, after the strong growth in 2024.
- TeraPlast shares also continued their depreciation trajectory that began in 2022, recording a 6.18% drop in price last month.
- The BET-FI index, of former SIFs plus Fondul Proprietatea, had a slight increase of 0.66% in April, to 61,050 points, given that the price evolution of the securities that compose it was mixed.
