The National Rural Development Programme (PNDR) has received 15,010 compliant projects with a public value in excess of 9 billion EUR. According to a press release to BURSA, nearly 9,500 projects with a public value of over 1.8 billion EUR have been selected for financing. Of them, approximately 3,000 projects with a total value of approximately 1.6 billion EUR have been already contracted.
A total of 6,391 projects selected for financing are currently in various phases of processing pending sign-off and contracting. In the last week, the PNDR made payments in the amount of 8,942,209 EUR and has contracted 33 projects with a public value of 6,755,749 EUR.
The European Union has allocated 8.02 billion EUR from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) to Romania via the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development for the implementation of the PNDR between 2007 and 2013. To this adds the national co-financing in the amount of 1.9 billion EUR.
