The first IKEA store in Romania requires an overall investment of some 25 million EUR, including the building, finishings and stocks. The building will be completed in February, with the store slated for opening in March - April. The first IKEA store in Romania will measure 26,000 square meters on two levels in the Baneasa commercial area. The Romanian team is supported by Inter IKEA Systems BV, the owner of the IKEA concept and the single IKEA franchisor. The store will be staffed by 420 employees, of whom 180 have been hired already. The store will carry over 7,000 items of furniture and accessories for all areas of a home, including the gardern.
