The National Airport Company of Bucharest (Compania Naţională Aeroporturi Bucureşti-CNAB) will spend 13.2 million lei (3 million Euros) on modernizing the presidential room of the "Henri Coandă" airport, according to the company's draft budget for 2012, quoted by Mediafax.
This year a total of 8.2 million lei of the total expenditures will be allocated for this project, followed by 5 million lei in 2013.
In 2012, the CNAB will spend half of what it did last year (591.74 million lei), of which 445.31 million lei will come from bank loans and 146.42 million lei from its own sources.
Spending on investments will continue to drop in 2013 and 2014 as well (380.48 million lei in 2013, and 286.13 million lei in 2014).
The investments in question concern the works already accomplished, of which the third stage of the development of the Otopeni Airport (93 million lei), the modernization of the first track and of three runways (202 million lei), the expansion or the modernization of several platforms, the renovation of the C wing of the Băneasa airport and ancillary works (6.9 million lei), the modernization of the beacons on Otopeni (10.65 million lei), the reorganization of the outside thermal grid on Otopeni (8.94 million lei), the drafting of the studies on the development of the road, subway and railway infrastructure which will allow access to the Eastern area of the Otopeni airport (1.5 million lei).
Among other things, the investments in Otopeni will focus on the development of a new training and crisis center (3.19 million lei this year), the systematization of the western area of the departure terminal (16.18 million lei this year), the modernization of the security infrastructure (8.42 million lei in 2013 and 2014), the modernization of elevators and automated doors, of the water, sewer and sanitary installations, as well as of the outside lighting.
The investments to be conducted in Băneasa, include the modernization of wings A, B and Central, (18.5 million lei), the security infrastructure, the rehabilitation of the access path and the reconfiguration of the airport's area (9.69 million lei), of the outside lighting in the public and technical area inside the airport (1 million lei).
The revenues of the CNAB are expected to increase 13.5% compared to the amounts provided in last year's budget, from 570.12 million lei to 647.5 million lei. Expenses would increase 36%, from 452.02 million lei to 615.08 million lei.
This means that the company's net profit would fall sharply compared to last year, from 99.19 million lei to 27.23 million lei.
