TCE Logistica closed 2006 with an investment of approximately 350 mln euros, in order to expand the company"s fleet by another twenty 3.5-ton vans (ten Iveco and ten Ford vans). The acquisition was not planned, but it became necessary as the volume of goods transported by TCE Logistica increased at the end of last year. Sorin Sofian, CEO of TCE Logistics said " the acquisition of the 20 vehicles was part of a more ample plan that included a greater number of vehicles of different tonnages, which was programmed for 2007. In order to handle the great number of operations at the end of last year, we were forced to buy these vehicles in advance."
In January, TCE Logistics started another project which required an investmenrt of 70.000 euros. Together with SAS Group, the company will install GPS navigation systems on 100 cars in January, while the rest of the fleet will wait until February. The GPS devices provided by the SAS Group are manufactured in France and are designed to comply with European standards.
