The Government has budgeted 750 million RON for the rehabilitation of the thermal energy distribution system according to State Secretary Mircea Toader of the Ministry of Administration and Interior. He added that 72 town halls had requested to be part of the program. Forty-four projects have been submitted in this respect already. Toader pointed out that the Government was going to stimulate the use of renewable energy sources. Minister Delegate for Public Works and Territorial Planning Laszlo Borbely said that 1700 buildings had been included in a program to improve thermal energy efficiency in 2006 - 2009.
