A challenge of the auction causes construction of homes for young families of Iaşi to be put on hold

The auction for the designing of the first four blocks of flats scheduled to be built as part of the "Municipal program for helping youth own a home", as initiated by the Mayoralty of Iaşi, was blocked following a challenge of the call for tenders. SC "TPF România" SRL has challenged several conditions included in the tender book, even before the opening of the offers, which was scheduled for July 3rd. 12 companies had submitted tenders for the design of two, three or four blocks on the sites chosen by the mayoralty, Smârdan, Fântânilor, Tabacului and Bradului 17A.

The following companies submitted tenders: "EXE Company Ro" SRL (Bucharest), "Vila House" SRL (Bucharest), "Carlos Serrano Munoz Architecto & Services", "Arhi Axa" SRL Iaşi, "Granit" SRL Iaşi, "Consilier Construct" (Bucharest), "Arbeco" SRL in a partnership with SC "Micosty Proiect" SRL, "SNC Lavalin România" SA (Bucharest), "German Architects & Partners" SRL, "Pseudo-Clasic" SRL Iaşi, "Arcadis TGH" SRL Iaşi and "Promrax" SRL Iaşi.

Within one month after opening the tenders, the officials of the Mayoralty of Iaşi were unable to pick a winner. Dumitru Tomorug, the financial manager of the mayoralty of Iaşi, explained: "Apart from this challenge, we also have to answer several requests for clarification from companies. In turn, we had to ask for explanations from several companies concerning some details in their tenders. We have extended the validation deadline, in order to allow us to select the potential winners. However, the final answer lies with the National Office for Contestations".

This project of the mayoralty of Iaşi involves the building of four multi-storey residential complexes intended for people of up to 35 years of age, which are looking to buy homes.
