The Minister of Regional Development and Homes, as National Authority for the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument - Cross Border Cooperation (ENPI CBC) between Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine 2007-2013, yesterday announced the first call for proposals. Thus, funding will be provided for cross border cooperation programs in the sector such as durable economic development, tourism development, human resources development, education, cultural cooperation, innovation, and natural and environmental protection, respectively. According to a press release sent to our editors, the projects must be submitted exclusively to the Program"s Joint Technical Secretariat in Budapest, by the September 22nd, 2009. The projects will be funded through the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) and through the contribution of the three member states of the European Union, and the ENPI has EUR 13,333,333 for funding projects. Eligible applicants include public local administrations and associations of such, microregional associations, and their subordinated institutions, not-for-profit organizations, educational institutions, chambers of commerce, natural park administrations, unemployment agencies etc. At least a Ukrainian organization must be involved in the partnership together with one organization from the three EU member states (Hungary, Slovakia or Romania), which meets the eligibility criteria.
