Deputy Adrian-Felician Cozma, PNL vice-president and one of the most vocal opponents of the Marcu team, expresses his hope that Gabriela Horga and Gabriel Avramescu, his party colleagues, will leave their mark on the ASF and change things for the better in terms of the activity of the Authority, from the future position of its vice-presidents.
Adrian-Felician Cozma told the newspaper BURSA: "I expect the members of the new ASF management team to be fair, to fulfill their duties in the job description and to supervise the financial activities in terms of - what the old management did not do. I think everyone remembers Euroins, how that company took the money out of the country, which caused the life insurance market to explode. I don't know if my party colleagues who will become vice-presidents at ASF can fundamentally change that institution, but they are both professionals, people of character. First of all, you need character so that when you get into a certain position, you can maintain your balance. I hope they remain the same as I know them from Parliament, where they have been in good faith and done their job. If they will also do it at the ASF and will not be left or pulled into all kinds of traps, I am convinced that they can have a good activity".
Asked what qualification he would give to the former leadership of ASF on a scale from 1 to 10, where 10 is the highest grade, deputy Adrian Cozma told us: "Marcu's team had a mandate of grade 2. A point is ex officio and I give them another point because they probably also went to work. Although I don't know if the fact that they went to work is worth any points. For the professional activity, the Marcu team does not deserve any points in the context in which we have seen three resounding bankruptcies in the insurance market, plus the trouble created for many people who for years have not yet received their compensation as a result of accidents - this, on on the one hand. On the other hand, under the former management of the ASF, we recorded the explosion of insurance prices, because the Authority's officials failed to exercise control regarding the relationship between the insurer, the insured and car services. There are many shortages here, including people walking around for nothing even though they had insurance. Or, if they were repaired, the work was of poor quality. There is another element: the too long term in which these compensations are settled".
That is why the PNL vice-president believes that, first of all, the new team at the head of the ASF must regulate the insurance market for the benefit of the beneficiaries and not strictly for the companies operating in this market.
