Aeroports de Paris Interested In The Privatization Of Future Bucharest Airports Company

Representatives of Aeroports de Paris, the company that manages the airports in Paris, have expressed interest in participating in the privatization of airports in Bucharest after the merger of the Otopeni and Baneasa Airports, Minister Ludovic Orban said.

"We discussed the privatization of airports in Bucharest and a possible partnership. The representatives of the company that managed airports in Paris expressed interest in participating in the privatization of the Bucharest Airports Company. The matter will be further discussed after the merger is completed," said Orban.

The incoming delegation included CEO Jean-Marie Chevallier, Managing Director Jacques Follain and representatives of consultancy companies working on the development of the Henri Coanda and Aurel Vlaicu Airports, the forthcoming merger and airport development in Romania, generally.

Aeroports de Paris was privatized in 2005 and manages the airports of Orly, Roissy - Charles de Gaulle, Le Bourget, Marsa Alam of Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt, ten leisure airfields near Paris and a heliport in Ile-de-France. Aeroports de Paris has some 9,500 employees.
