Aluminium producer Alro Slatina posted a net profit of 79.35 million RON (34.13 million EUR) in the second quarter of the year, down by 27.3% from 109.14 million RON in the same period last year, according to a company press release. In the first quarter of 2007, Alro reported a net profit of 159.3 million RON. Turnover amounted to 508.23 million RON (218.63 million USD), down 7.9% as compared with 551.93 million RON in the corresponding period of 2006.
In the first six months, Alro posted a net profit of 238.7 million RON (102.68 million USD), recording a 16.7% increase from 204.53 million RON in the same period last year. Turnover amounted to 1.103 billion RON (474.5 million USD), down by 2.2% as compared with 1.128 billion RON in the corresponding period of 2006.
Alro Slatina expects a 8.8% drop in net profit, which should amount to 135.57 million USD at year-end. Turnover is expected to reach 741.68 million USD, down by 13.6% from 2006.
The company has a share capital of 356.89 million RON, divided into 713.78 million shares with a face value of 0.50 RON. The majority shareholder is Vimetco Group (Vimetco Industries BV and Conef SA) with 87.74% in Alro, followed by Proprietatea Fund with 9.93%. The company is listed on Tier 1 of the Bucharest Stock Exchange as ALR and has a capitalisation of 7.495 billion RON (2.323 billion EUR).
