Alumil Group posted a 32.8% sales increase, reaching 64.65 million EUR, compared with 48.66 million EUR in the same period last year. The growth was driven by architectural and industrial profiles" sales, automation systems, shading systems, polycarbonate sheets and composite panels (namely J-Bond) sales.
Group net earnings (after taxes and minorities) reached 2.56 million EUR, up 10.6% from the same period last year (2.31 million EUR). Consequently, earnings per share reached 0.116 EUR, compared with 0.105 EUR in Q1 2006. Investments reached 5.5 million EUR in the first three months., representing mainly non-current assets" invoices, incorporated during the current period.
ALUMIL ROM, the group"s Romanian subsidiary, recorded an impressive growth in the Bucharest Stock Exchange - first trading day April 16th. Regarding parent company financials, sales increased 26.6%, surpassing 51.96 million EUR, compared to 41.05 million EUR in Q1 2006. EBITDA reached 5 million EUR, a 4.4% increase, compared to 4.77 million EUR in the same period last year. Earnings before taxes reached 2.05 million RON, decreased compared to Q1 2006 (2.4 million EUR). Net earnings after taxes also decreased to around 1.5 million EUR, compared to 1.86 million EUR in the year-ago quarter.
