A luxury resort will be created in the Tărlungeni commune, near the Dălghiu area in the Ciucaş mountains. The project was initially announced in 2007. The plans made so far include facilities that outshine any other Romanian resort. 14 slopes, a five star hotel, several other three- and four-star hotels, villas and luxury apartments, a conference room, a concert hall, a medical center, a sports center and a casino. These are just a few of the facilities of the new resort called "Carpatia". The project is based on a partnership concluded in 2007 between Americans Developments SRL, the city of Braşov and the Commune of Tărlungeni, the latter two owning the land that the resort will be built on.

Monday evening, the spokesperson of the company "Carpatia Resort", Eduard Coşoveanu, made a presentation of the investment project called "Integrated travel resort in the Ciuca Mountains area", together with the company Americans Developments SRL. Mr. Coşoveanu provided details on the project, which will span over 1000 hectares. The investment will require an estimated 2.5 billion Euros and will take around five years to complete. The project will be financed by the company itself, by European funds and investment funds. "This project will create 14000 jobs during the construction stages, and 15000 jobs after becoming operational. We are not looking to develop a simple tourist resort, but rather, one that is internationally known", Eduard Coşoveanu said.

He also said that the project has obtained all the environmental permits, has obtained the City Planning certificate, which certifies that the land is constructible, as well as the General Metropolitan Plan. "The project can not be done without the involvement of the city of Braşov, which holds approximately 1500 hectares of land in the Ciucaş Mountains, which will be partially affected by some of the functions of this project. Today"s presentation wasn"t exactly the best, but we hope we get more details during the discussion with the negotiation commission", mayor George Scripcaru said, at the end of the presentation.
