• Consumers" Guide will be distributed in travel agencies
The National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT) and the Romanian Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) recently signed a Collaboration Protocol intended to improve services in the hospitality industry and increase the satisfaction of customers of travel agencies.
The contract contains steps intended to expand cooperation between the two parties and collaboration on issues concerning rights and interests of consumers, as well as to better defend their rights. The protocol will also include steps intended to prevent low quality services.
The program establishes the steps to be taken for the application of the provisions of the law concerning consumer protection. The program will also propose and support initiatives for the elaboration or modification of laws dealing with consumer protection, as well as a consumer protection guide which will be distributed through travel agencies.
The two institutions will also organize regional seminars for improving information flow and collaboration between the two institutions. The contract also includes provisions concerning the sale of airline and coach tickets and travel packages as well as the minimum information that travel agents are required to display in their offices.
ANAT and ANPC initiated their first partnership on December 20, 2007, and their collaboration has continued to strengthen since then.
