Some 35 million EUR is necessary to finalize the Nicolae Grigorescu - Ring Road section of Bucharest, according to Transportation Minister Ludovic Orban during a visit to Metrorex" main construction sites. The commissioning timeframe is mid-2008.
The minister said he was dissatisfied with the status of the construction works on the 1 Mai - Laromet section, as well as with the set deadline. He asked that construction works be finished 9 months earlier Construction works on this section originally started in 1989 and were interrupted several times because of lack of funds.
