• Antibiotice leads the industrial sector in Iasi with over 229 mio. RON in turnover
According to the Top Companies In Iasi for 2007, made by the Iasi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Antibiotice remains the leading company in the county. The criteria for the top included the number of employees, the net turnover for the previous year, the operating profit, the profit rate, development efforts, human resources efficiency and return on capital. Following the evaluation, each participating company received a number of points. All candidates were grouped according to their business as follows: Research - Development & High Tech, Industry, Agriculture, Fishery, Construction, Services, Commerce, Export and Tourism. In the Research - Development & High Tech category, Ness Romania SRL is the leader with more than 62 million RON in turnover. Antibiotice is the leading industrial company with more than 229 million RON in turnover, followed by Iasitex, with 84 million RON. In agriculture, Avi-Top SA is the leader with over 34 million RON in turnover. Constructii Feroviare Iasi Grup Colas is the top construction company with 139 million RON in turnover. Remat - Pascani is the leading service provider in the county with a net turnover in excess of 157 million RON. Casa Auto SRL leads the category Commerce, Export and Tourism with a turnover of 117 million RON. The 73 participating companies totalled an aggregated net turnover of 2,133,033,367 RON at the end of 2007. "Antibiotice is very hard to catch up with. They are a very large company that ranks high for all criteria. Antibiotice is the flagship company of Iasi County and also one of the positive examples in the State"s portfolio," said Sorin Gheorghiu, head of the Business Support Department of the Iasi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The awards ceremony for the top ten positions in each category will take place on 14 November at the Iasi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. According to Sorin Gheorghiu, the event will include several presentations of programs given by recruitment company Man Power, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the main organizer, Orange.
