Arcelor Mittal - Galati yesterday announced that salaries were going to be increased by 12% retroactively, effective as of January 1st, irrespective of whether the new framework employment contract was going to be signed. According to Public Affairs Manager Dorian Dumitrescu, the average net salary in the plant is going to reach 1,300 RON plus meal tickets worth some 140 RON.
Four of the five annual bonuses will be increased from 100 to 120 RON, whereas the vacation bonus will be increased from 100 to 200 RON. However, only eight of the nine unions at Arcelor Mittal. The ninth union disproves of the management"s proposal and has started procedures to organize a strike.
