Archivit Starts Archiving Business In Romania

Archivit, part of the Israeli-based international group Villar, is entering the Romanian document archiving market with a 600,000 EUR investment spread over the next three years, according to CEO Ilan Rogenstein. The company is planning to have the greatest impact on the Romanian archiving market, currently split roughly between the US-based Iron Mountain and the Dutch-based De Groot. Archivit will buy 10 hectares near the highway to Constanta and build the necessary logistic center. The currently archiving center in Glina is equipped with ventilation and humidity control systems and uses a type of boxes certified for optimal document storage. Archivit also provides electronic archiving solutions. For the physical archiving, the price is about 7 EUR per box per year. Archivit will focus on banks and insurers as the main target customers and will also attempt to enter partnerships with the National Archives. The company believes that the archiving market will gain 6% in the next few years amid the development of the private pension systems. At the moment, the company"s customer portfolio includes Queen Investments, Burda Romania, Straus Romania, Dona Pharmacies and AutoItalia.
