"Ariston Thermo România" estimates that the number of homes equipped with solar panels could reach 35,000 by winter, compared to the current number of 17,500 as a result of the launch of the program "Green Home". Cătălin Drăguleanu, the company"s sales manager said: "The amount allocated for the "Green Home" program for the year 2010 is 110 million lei, and will be enough for 18,000 Romanian homes. We estimate that over 90% of the beneficiaries will choose solar systems".
The "Green Home" program will subsidize the outfitting of over 16,000 homes with solar panels, according to a press release sent to our editors. Cătălin Drăguleanu claims that the domestic market for solar panels is still in an incipient stage and that the small number of solar panels sold so far is caused by the fact that until now there was no viable program to stimulate sales, such as the one launched in July.
