ARoBS Transilvania Software, one of the largest software developers in Romania, reported revenues of 2,3 million EUR for last year, up 160% from 2005. ARoBS Transilvania was founded in 1998 by a group of computer programmers who had previously worked with renowned companies in Western Europe and the United States. Approximately four years after the company was founded, ARoBS entered the Romanian market.
According to Voicu Oprean, CEO of AROBS, "the significant growth from the past few years is mainly due to the succes of outsourcing software development and projects developed for the Romanian market", such as Optimall by Arobs - solution for automating sales force, ABOS şi ATOS - solutions for the tourism industry and Track GPS - an efficient GPS system for tracking auto parks.
Last year, the company entered a new market segment, namely distribution of complete GPS navigation systems. The company shortly became a licensed distributor for Mio, Eten şi Qtek brands, reporting a monthly growth of 10-15% for the mobile terminal segment.
"In 2007, we will direct our resources towards the development of software solutions and commercializing complete GPS navigation systems or GPS Smartphones", added Mr. Oprean. In 2007, AROBS plans to strengthen its partnership with Microsoft, by becoming a Microsoft Gold Partner and the pertnetships with IBM and Palm, AROBS being a Microsoft Certified Partner, IBM Business Partner and Palm Partner.
