EnglishAviva Group Romania posted gross underwritten premiums worth 38.5 million RON, recording a 28.97% increase from 29.84 million RON in the same period last year, according to a company press release. The insurer"s assets totalled 165.86 million RON in the first six months, up by 39.83% from 118.62 million RON in the first half of 2006.
The company has recently entered the Romanian optional pensions market and as of July, Aviva also manages a mandatory pension fund.
Aviva Group"s global sales rose by 25% to 28.51 billion EUR, as compared with 24.57 billion EUR in the corresponding period of 2006. In the first six months, the company posted a net profit of 1.5 billion EUR. The group"s assets total 535 billion EUR.
