Banca Comerciala Carpatica (BVB:BCC) is EMV-certificated for processing Visa and Mastercard cards containing security chips. BCC President Nicolaie Hoanta said: "Through the EMV certification, not only are we aligning to international standards, but we are also offering our customers the capability to perform more secure transactions. With a national network of 224 ATMs, one of the top 10 in the country, we are an important player on the card market, which brings us closer to our customers." Near future plans in this respect include obtaining the authorization to issue cards with chips and upgrading POS terminals.
