Banca Transilvania (Transylvania Bank, BT) has approved 230 applications for mortgage loans under the State-driven First Home Programme and has obtained the secondary approval of the National SME Loan Guarantee Fund (FNGCIMM) for 30 of them, according to BT General Manager Robert C. Rekkers.
As the credit quota allocated to the bank for financing First Home mortgage loans has been fully drawn, but the bank continues to receive applications for more loans, BT will approach the FNGCIMM with a request for increasing the quota, Rekkers added.
Depending on the response of the FNGCIMM, the Banca Transilvania will accept further applications for the Programme or not. "We are one of the top three banks participating in the Programme, ranked by the number of applications for a First Home loan. Approximately 95% of these applications are made for EUR-denominated loans," he said.
Approximately 70% of the applications are filed by prospective customers residing outside Bucharest. The average value of a First Home mortgage loan application is 37,000 EUR. Approximately 60% of the homes which Banca Transilvania customers would like to buy under the First Home Programme are pre-owned.
Banca Transilvania had initially requested a credit quota of 25 million EUR for the First Home Programme, but only 17.1 million EUR was approved.
