EnglishBCR Asigurari reported gross underwritten premiums of over 214 million RON for the first quarter of the current fiscal year, up 149% from the same period last year. The insurer"s market share doubled in the first three months, amounting to 12.76%, compared with 6.61% in the year-ago quarter. Thus, BCR Asigurari currently ranks second among Romanian insurance companies.
In 2006, BCR Asigurari registered gross written premiums of more than 423 million RON, 93.4% more than in 2005, the insurer"s growth rate surpassing that of the non-life insurance market nearly threefold. Also, on December 31, 2006 the company reported a solvency margin of 2.22. On the non-life insurance sector, the market share increased from 6.49% in 2005 to 9.24% in 2006, when the insurer ranked fourth in its field.
BCR ASIGURARI operates exclusively in the non-life business. The company has a share capital of 30,000,000 RON and a distribution network of 171 units, providing a complete range of products to its clients, individuals and corporate.
