Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) on Friday launched the "A Guideline to Your Money" programme intended to help customers find the best solutions to manage personal budgets. Thus, each BCR branch will have a dedicated consultant offering free guidance to all interested customers.

"It is becoming more and more complicated and less and less efficient to develop relations with a customer in the absence of minimum knowledge of simple things, such as personal finance administration. We want to help our customers, and not only, to know and understanding the basic requirements for the efficient management of personal finances," said Sorin Mititelu, BCR"s Executive Director of the Directorate for Product Development and Retail Business.

Within this programme, the bank"s consultants will analyze the customer"s current financial situation and offer solutions for day-to-day budget management and the development of a recapitalization plan. "We have started a free consultancy programme. During meetings with our consultants, each customer will receive dedicated advice, adapted to their specific situation, needs and wishes," Mititelu added.

BCR has also created a special section for the "A Guideline to Your Money" programme on their website to give customers access to a form in which to enter their expenses and revenues in order to plan their personal budget. Advice for better financial management is also available. The Contact Centre is also available for scheduling a meeting with the bank"s consultants.

"In order for this programme to work, customers need to be open-minded and willing to accept help. Honesty is also key. Upon making the personal budget, one needs to consider all the household expenses, as well as petty spending, such as newspapers or coffee. This is the first and most important step: to put everything on paper with maximum responsibility," Mititelu added.

Thus, customers whose revenue exceeds their spending can receive advice on saving, while those who spend too much can learn how to cut costs.
