A group of Belgian investors will set up a large golf course near the town of Pecica, in the county of Arad. The location was chosen because it is at an equal distance from Nădlac and Arad, near the border. "The Belgian investors have acquired 29 hectares outside the city, near the forest of Gheduş and they are looking to make a sizeable investment thus creating new jobs. Pecica would benefit from the creation of new jobs as well as from the increased revenues in taxes", said the mayor of Pecica, Petru Antal.

According to the plans presented by the Belgian investors, the new leisure area will be up to Western standards and apart from the large golf course, a tennis court, a restaurant, cabins and parking lots. Furthermore visitors of the resort will also be able to experience the "Lunca Mureşului" Natural Park, which is located nearby.

The first step was already taken, as the Belgian investors have set up a company headquartered in Pecica, meaning the taxes paid by the company will go to the budget of the town, and the company will select its employees from the town as well. The businessmen said that the total investment will exceed 5 million Euros, and the project is at a stage where documentation is being prepared.

Also, officials of the Italian company Bellavista Golf Villas&Resort announced that they would begin the construction of the "Butterfly Royal Golf Resort" project, which, apart from luxury villas, apartment buildings and a luxury hotel, will also feature a golf club.
