Drug maker Biofarm Bucharest inchreased its share capital by from 46.95 million RON to 58.68 million RON (18.45 million EUR), by using last year"s net profit, according to a report to the Bucharest Stock Exchange. The new shares have a face value of 0.10 RON.
Following the share capital increase, the significant shareholders in Biofarm are SIF Oltenia (14.33%), SIF Moldova (10.78%), SIF Banat Crişana (10%), AVAS (1%) and other minority shareholders (64.24%).
Biofarm posted a net profit of 4.29 million RON (1.2 million EUR) in the first quarter of 2007, recording a 7.25% increase from 4 million RON in the same period last year. Turnover amounted to 14.49 million RON (4.32 million EUR) in the first three months, down 0.13% from 14.51 million RON in the year-ago quarter.
The company is listed on Tier 1 of the Bucharest Stock Exchange under the symbol BIO. Biofarm has a market capitalisation of 389.68 million RON.
