EnglishInternet security software developer BitDefender expects to exceed 40% of the Romanian antivirus market at the end of the year. The overall market was estimated at 5 million EUR last year, with an outlook to gain 20% this year. The company has recently launched the BitDefender 2008 suite, which offers both Internet security and newly added functionality to optimize computer performance.
The BitDefender 2008 suite comprises BitDefender Antivirus 2008, BitDefender Internet Security 2008 and BitDefender Total Security 2008. "The previous product suite constantly ranked among the top three in the world, following over 30 international tests. The new functionalities offered by BitDefender 2008, including compatibility with 64-bit Windows and the game mode, demonstrate BitDefender"s dedication to developing new technologies capable to meet the requirements of the current information environment and customer expectations," said BitDefender CTO Bogdan Dumitru.
BitDefender is the widest-spread Romanian product, being retailed in over 6,000 stores on five continents. BitDefender has subsidiaries in the US, UK, Germany, Spain and Romania.
