The National Bank of Romania (BNR) reported forex reserves of 22,000.4 million EUR at the end of June 2007, up by 62.1 million EUR following revenues of 691.9 million EUR from the management of the international reserves and the alteration of the minimum mandatory reserves for commercial banks and the payment of 629.8 million EUR to the foreign public debt service.
The gold reserve remained constant at 104.7 tons, but its value decreased to 1,620.4 million EUR. The overall value of the international reserves (forex plus gold) is over 23.62 billion EUR. Foreign debt service payments scheduled to become due by the end of 2007 amount to 480 million EUR.
