The Brasov Tourism Promotion & Development Association (APDT) and the Sustainable Development Agency (ADDJBv) have presented the slogan created to promote the city of Brasov at the International Tourism Fair Berlin (ITB) to be held on 11-14 March: "Brasov Be.Live It." The fair is the largest of its kind in the world, so ADDJB and ADPT felt compelled to promise that the city of Brasov will have the largest stand among all Romanian participants.
Stricken by recession, the city of Brasov is trying to increase revenue through tourism. Depite a 30% decrease in the number of tourists at European level in 2008, Romania managed to maintain constant tourism revenues and, as far as Brasov is concerned, a small increase was noted to approximately 800,000 tourists. The Brasov Tourism Promotion & Development Association and the Brasov County Sustainable Development Agency believe that the manner in which Brasov is promoted on the international tourism market will have a great impact on tourism revenues in the near future.
• First time in Berlin
The City of Brasov will be presented to potential European tourists at the largest tourism fair in the world next week for the first time. ADPT - Brasov booked a stand long in advance and promised that it would be the largest stand in the Romanian section of the fair, according to ADPT Executive Director Ionut Gliga. "Now is the time to revive tourism in Brasov, during the crisis. In Berlin, we will have a fairly aggressive presentation of Brasov"s tourism potential and, throughout the three days of the fair, we will meet with tour operators that could include Brasov in their programmes for tourists from various countries," Gliga added. The presentation will include traditional artistic performances and the traditional cuisine of the county.
• Brasov develops tourism brand
Upon participating in the International Tourism Fair Berlin, Brasov will unveil its own tourism brand. The newly created visual identity of the county - the first ever for a county in Romania - was unveiled yesterday by the Brasov Tourism Promotion & Development Association and the Sustainable Development Agency. The visual identity is accompanied by the slogan "Be.Live It," developed in partnership with an advertising agency. As of 11 March - the first day of the fair - Brasov will also have a website, www.brandingbrasov.ro, which will make its debut with intensive coverage of the city"s participation in the Fair.
