Romanian company "Brinel", one of the main domestic providers of IT solutions, saw a 15% turnover increase at the end of 2008, exceeding 105 million lei (around 28 million Euros) for the entire group. The main company, "Net Brinel" - provider of IT infrastructure solutions and business solutions - saw a 20% increase in its turnover.

According to a press release, Q3 results exceeded the financial estimates, while Q4 saw a sudden drop in the public sector"s IT investments.

Marcel Borodi, CEO of the "Brinel" group, said that "in 2008, we have increased the number of professionals on our team, as well as improved their certifications, and we have strengthened our partnerships with the most powerful global players - HP, Microsoft, Cisco, IBM, Oracle, Intel, as well as others".

Representatives of the company said that the number of active customers exceeded 500, while, on last year"s performance, Marcel Borodi said: "We have succeeded in implementing solutions that have increased the efficiency of our customers. At the rate that the market grew last year, success was greatly influenced by the speed of their operations and decision-making. We could say that both factors were decisively influenced by the IT&C solutions used", he said.

On how things will evolve in 2009, Mr. Borodi states that "A forecast for 2009 is the hardest to make. The data we have is vague and contradictory, but we strongly believe that IT&C is not expendable. Apart from the infrastructure that our country needs, IT could be Romania"s ace for the European market. The lack of financial resources is holding the market back. We do however trust that our results for 2009 will match those of 2008. We think we might see a 5-10% increase over last year"s numbers", Marcel Borodi said. He expressed his confidence in the outlook for the future and in the ability to fundamentally contribute to the sustainability of customers" business. "We estimate that opportunities for growth will be found in increasing the efficiency of business processes and in reducing costs. IT remains an important component of success in a business", said Mr. Borodi. He also said that "the IT segment is somewhat less affected by the economic crisis, when compared to other sectors. Given the current context, the company intends to remain stable and constant in keeping customer relationships, to develop new projects and to invest in human resources", said "Brinel""s official.
