Climate Change Summit, scheduled for October 19 and 20, puts Bucharest on the map of places where discussions on climate change take place. Over two days, more than 1,500 participants, including innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers, representatives of employer and business associations, civil society, as well as government officials and public administration representatives, gather to identify applicable solutions in multiple fields for the challenges posed by climate change. On the first day of the event, which will take place at the National Opera, there will be over 50 speakers, both Romanian and international. The second day of the Climate Change Summit brings conferences, workshops, and roundtable discussions in over 20 locations in Bucharest to explore and shape the future. Topics such as sustainability innovations, climate policies, green finance and circular economy, nature conservation, and concrete actions in the fight against climate change are featured on the agenda of the Climate Change Summit 2023. The general public is invited to join the regional initiative to combat the effects of climate change at climatechange-summit.org. The conference sessions will serve as a platform for in-depth discussions on key climate change-related topics. These conferences will take place in universities such as the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration, the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, and the Romanian-American University. Conference themes include green startups, the intersection of climate change and artificial intelligence, sustainable agricultural practices, and energy transition with a focus on renewable energy sources. In these sessions, top experts, public authorities, researchers, and industry leaders will share perspectives and solutions regarding sustainable practices and innovations in various fields. The discussions within the roundtable discussions provide opportunities for focused and interactive discussions on critical climate policy issues. Representatives of the Romanian Government and Parliament, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Environment, as well as the business sector actively participate in these discussions, contributing to the development of climate policies and strategies. Topics addressed include international climate commitments, legislative approaches to climate change, research and development in energy technologies, and the role of local and central authorities in achieving sustainable development goals. These roundtable discussions promote collaboration between government institutions and stakeholders in shaping climate policies.
Bucharest will be the capital of climate discussions for two days
