On Friday, the "BURSA" newspaper received the Award for Support of the Capital Market from the chairman of the Sibiu Derivatives Exchange, Mr. Teodor Ancuţa, as part of the 15 year anniversary of the Sibiu Exchange.
Teodor Ancuţa, the chairman of Sibex, thanked the "BURSA" newspaper for its continued support over the course of these years, and for its fair depiction of the activity of Sibex and of its plans.
For 15 years, "BURSA" has informed its readers promptly, starting with everything pertaining to the Sibiu Commodities Exchange, at first, then, on the authorization of the derivatives market in Sibiu, on the attempted merger with the Bucharest Stock Exchange and the subsequent tension which arose between the two stock exchange operators, on the cooperation between Sibex and the Warsaw Stock Exchange and last but not least, on the creation of a new stock exchange in Sibiu.
We will be watching Sibex now that they need to prove their strength in their rivalry with their Bucharest-based competition. But since it"s too early to compare their results on the similar market segments - Bucharest derivatives vs. Bucharest derivatives or spot Bucharest vs. spot Sibiu, which is why for now it will be interesting to watch how well the newly launched markets of the two exchanges fare against each other (the Sibex stock marspot vs. the derivatives market of the Bucharest stock exchange).
