The aluminium can manufacturer "Can-Pack" will invest this year 1.5 million euro in production capacity. The total value of "Can-Pack" investments in our country exceeds 40 million euro. Gabriela Cruceanu, the company"s representative for Romania, stated that the company has closed 2006 with over 40 million euro in revenues. The mother-company "Can-Pack" in Poland had revenues of 350 million euro during the financial year July 2005- June 2006. The company planned the increasing of the production capacity from six to eight million cans a year. Mrs Cruceanu told us that the estimated revenue for this year is 180 million lei, due to the investments in the production capacity at the end of the year.
The "Can-Pack" reprezentative has also told us that the company will distribute, as was done last year, the whole production from the Bucharest factory on both the domestic market and as exports.The main countries that import aluminium packaging manufactured by "Can-Pack" in our country are Turkey, Greece, India, Pakistan, Hungary, Albania, Lebanon and Macedonia.
The company owns two more factories in Poland, one in the Ukraine, and one in Dubai. The principal shareholder of "Can-Pack" is the American company "F&B" Holding.
"Can-Pack" Romania anticipates for this year a share of 90% of the Romanian aluminium packaging market. Its main clients are "Brau Union", "Interbrew", "Tuborg", "European Drinks" and "Coca-Cola".
During 2006, "Can-Pack" Romania ran an advertising campaign named "Canned beer is cooler", for a six-month period. The costs of the campaign intended for the final consumer and meant to increase the aluminium can packed drinks market amounted to 650.000 euro.
