Carrefour will open this year, in addition to the two cities already announced - Cluj and Iasi, a new hypermarket in the center of Bucharest, in the Unirii area, the space being acquired from Univers"all. The store has a total retail surface area of 3.600 sqm and 33 checkout counters.
Also, Carrefour is developing two new projects in Suceava and Pitasti, which will be launched in 2008. Thus, for the store in Suceava, the company collaborates with Priceton Investments&Real Estate Development SRL. The hypermjarket will be located in the central area of the city, within the Shopping City Suceava. The hypermarket"s retail surface area is 7500 sqm, while the total surface is 12.000 sqm.
For the development of the store in Pitesti, Carrefour works with Jupiter Group. The store will be located at the entrance to Pitesti off Bucharest-Pitasti highway. The hypermarket"s retail surface area is 7.500 sqm, while its total surface is 12.000 sqm.
