Businessman Cătălin Chelu bought another 2.96 million shares (8.27%) of Argus Constanţa, having paid 8.8 million lei so far. After acquiring 13.3% of the shares of the sunflower oil maker on Thursday, his stake in the company reached 21.6%. The company"s stock continued to see heavy trading yesterday, with a turnover of 14.58 million lei. Half an hour after the opening, 4.59 million lei had already been traded, (12.83% of the company), with the price seeing an upward trend, going to 3.5 lei/share.
Another important shareholder of the company of Constanţa is SIF Oltenia, which has increased its stake to 27.19%.
Argus owns an oil factory in Constanţa and several grain storage areas in the counties of Constanţa, Călăraşi and Tulcea. In the first quarter, the company had a turnover of 64 million lei, up 70% YOY, from 37.7 million lei. During the same period, its profit increased 26%, from 4.4 million lei to 5.6 million lei.
