Ceramic block manufacturer Cemacon Zalau posted a net profit of 1.5 million RON in the first half of 2007, up 2.4 times from 613,400 RON in the same period last year, according to a company press release. Turnover amounted to 14.7 million RON (4.7 million EUR), recording a 39% increase from 10.58 million RON in the corresponding period of 2006. The increase is mainly due to the launch of a new production line earlier this year.
The company estimates a gross profit of 3.66 million RON (1.1 million EUR) for the current fiscal year, up four times from 932,000 RON in H1/06, as production capacity doubled. Turnover is expected to rise by 48% to 36.25 million RON (10.85 million EUR), while investments should reach 2.13 million RON.
Cemacon has a share capital of 7.33 million RON, divided into 2.93 million shares with a face value of 2.50 RON. The significant shareholders in the company are Ceramica SA (18.09%), Broker Cluj SA (9.21%), Ceramica Service SA (6.80%), and Roemenie & Bulgarije Fonds NV (10.12%). Cemacon Zalau ia listed on Rasdaq under the symbol CEON.
