Ceramic blocks producer Ceramica Iasi doubled its net profit in the first quarter of the current fiscal year, reporting earnings of 2.6 million RON, compared with 1.3 million RON in the same period last year, according to a company report quoted by NewsIn. Turnover totaled 9.7 million RON in the first three months, increasing by 37% from 7.07 million RON in the year-ago quarter. Operating revenue increased to la 3.24 million RON from 2.18 million RON in Q1 2006.
Ceramica SA Iasi ended 2006 with a net profit of 6 million RON, recording a 31% decline from 2005, due to massive investments in a new production line. Last year, the company"s turnover amounted to 40.66 million RON (12 million EUR), up 12% from 36.25 million RON (9.86 million EUR) in the past year.
The company has a share capital of 8.16 million RON, divided into 16.3 million shares with a face value of 0.50 RON. The company is controled by the employees association with 41.5%.
