The Cluj City Center is slated for a complete facelift by the year-end as the City Hall will finalize the renovation of the city"s main street, Bulevardul Eroilor for a total of 2.5 million EUR. The left side of the boulevard is going to become a pedestrian-only area.
A 3D preview was released yesterday, when Planwerk architects gave a presentation of the project: "There will be three main areas: a commercial area, a garden & terrace area and a promenade area. The longitudinal axis will be marked by a line of trees, especial lime trees. There will also be a bicycle lane," said architect Eugen Panescu, one of the authors of the project.
A tourist information point and several fountains will also be included. The project will be complemented by a second project in Piata Unirii, which could include the restoration of the archaeological site in front of Matei Corvin"s statue.
