The National Securities Commission (CNVM) has approved the merger by absobtion of SC Alro SA Slatina and SC Alprom SA Slatina. The resulting company is Alro SA, with a share capital of 356.888.000 RON. Alro shares will continue to be traded on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
Alro controls Alprom, holding 88,605% in the company. The company resulting from the merger, Alro SA, keeps the production structure and plans to diversify and increase production capacity. The development perspectives for the resulting company are related to the founding of a vertically integrated aluminium company in order to increase its competitiveness on foreign markets.
Alro Slatina is the largest aluminium producer in Central and Eastern Europe and it intends to maintain its position. The significant shareholders in the resulting company are Marco Industries BV Amsterdam (84,19%), Proprietatea Fund (9,92%) and Conef SA (3,55%).
