Coface Romania has introduced an insurance plan for commercial loans and estimates to have 30 customers for this product by the end of the year. The insurance covers the risk that a debtor may not be able to pay due installments on time, thus covering the creditor against losses caused by insolvency or default.
The insurance covers up to 85% of the insured value, whereas the premium is 0.3 - to - 0.8 percent, depending on the turnover. The customer profile includes major companies in the telecom, steel, chemical, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.
