General councilmen of the city of Bucharest will reevaluate, in a meeting to be held on Thursday, several decision drafts proposing massive expropriations for accomplishing some big infrastructure projects, that former mayor Adriean Videanu was considering as well at the time. Councilmen must reach a decision on asking the government to issue some decrees approving the expropriation procedures.

The suggested investments include the continuation and completion of the "Multiple level crossing Basarab", the continuation and the completion of the "doubling of the North-South diameter N-S for the Buzeşti - Berzei - Vasile Pârvan - B.P.Haşdeu Uranus - Calea Rahovei road sector", as well as the completion of the "Expansion of the Gheorghe Ionescu Siseşti - Ion Ionescu de la Brad streets".

Other investments that require massive expropriations are the Nicolae Grigorescu - Splai Dudescu" connection as well as the "Regularization of the Tudor Vladimirescu Boulevard, between the Cedrilor and Calea Rahovei streets". The previous General Council kept postponing these expropriations in order to carry out an appraisal of the huge compensation budget, which was estimated to reach hundreds of millions of Euros. Some councilmen argued at the time, that the expropriations would sometimes cost twice as much as some of the works.
