Companies from the traditional trade continue to be in first place in the list of company deletions recorded by the National Office of the Trade Registry, according to a press release issued by the public institution.
"By field of activity, the largest number of deletions in the first seven months of 2023 was recorded in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles - 9,750 companies (a decrease of 12%, compared to the period January - July 2022), professional, scientific and technical activities - 3,345 companies (minus 2.22%) and transport and storage - 3,226 companies (an increase of 1.38%, compared to the same period last year)", the document states quote.
At the national level, between January 1 and August 1, 2023, 38,332 companies were deregistered, 6.52% less compared to the same period last year, according to ONRC statistics.
The most deletions were registered in the city of Bucharest - 6,195 (minus 5.22% compared to January - July 2022) and in the counties of Cluj -1,842 (minus 1.07%), Constanţa - 1,731 (minus 5.15%) and Timiş - 1,715 (minus 7.85%). At the opposite pole, the fewest deletions were recorded in the counties of Ialomiţa - 231 (down by 31.45%, compared to the first seven months of 2022), Covasna -277 (minus 18.77%) and Giurgiu - 300 (minus 27.36%).
The most significant increases in the number of deletions were recorded in the counties of Dâmboviţa (plus 20.45%), Botoşani (plus 16.90%) and Bacău (plus 16.88%).
In the analyzed period, the largest decreases in the number of deletions were recorded in the counties of Ialomiţa (minus 31.45%), Giurgiu (minus 27.36%) and Ilfov (minus 22.43%).
In July 2023, 4,437 company deletions were recorded, most in Bucharest (830) and in the counties of Constanţa (208), Timiş (181) and Cluj (176).
