EnglishCosmote reported, for the first nine months of the year, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of 10,6 million Euros, as against a loss of 27,4 million Euros recorded for the same period of last year, the company announced yesterday.
According to the company, the revenue for the third quarter of 2008 logged a three figure growth, rising 108%, as against the third quarter of 2007.
Cosmote Romania"s Financial manager, Costas Apostolou, stated: "Cosmote continues to provide Romanian consumers relevant and competitive telephony services, a strategy rewarded by the trust given to us by over 5,24 million residential and corporate clients, as featured in our database at the end of the month of September 2008. Moreover, the most important growth was recorded in the contract plans segment, which grew by 106,3% during the first nine months of the year, as against the year 2007".
According to Mr. Apostolou, Cosmote continues to record the highest rate of drawin in new clients, as, during the first nine months of the year, the number of people joining the Cosmote network being 1,63 million.
Since its launch in December 2005, Cosmote has invested over 600 million Euros and has built a team of over 1.000 Romanian employees.
