The veil is slowly being lifted from an issue that has been intensely discussed, but is always in a gray day. Cases of sexual harassment have occurred in 22 universities out of the 76 (state and private) that sent explanatory notes, according to the Council of University Ethics and Management. CEMU initiated, at the request of the Ministry of Education, checks at the level of higher education institutions regarding cases that involved elements of sexual harassment (or assimilated acts), the way in which these were managed at the level of university ethics committees and the results of the actions taken at the institutional level, including by reporting on prevention measures. According to the cited source, the victims were predominantly female, coming from both female students and teaching staff. Thus, at the "Grigore T. Popa" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iaşi, one case was registered in 2015, at the "Dunărea de Jos" University in Galaţi, four cases were registered in the period 2020-2022, at the "Iuliu Haţieganu" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca, two cases were registered, at the "Carol I" National Defense University, one case, at the National University of Arts in Bucharest - one case, at the "I. L. Caragiale" National University of Theatre and Cinematography - one current case and two older ones. Also, the same source states, a case was registered at the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Cluj-Napoca in 2012. At Babeş-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca - 7 cases, at the "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" Police Academy - two cases, at the "Ferdinand I" Military Technical Academy - one case, at the "King Mihai I" University of Life Sciences in Timişoara - 3 cases, Transylvania University in Braşov - 12 reports, "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University in Iaşi - two cases, "Vasile Goldiş" Western University in Arad - two cases, Academy of Economic Studies - three cases, University of Bucharest - 66 cases under discussion by the Ethics Commission, of which 6 cases are sexual harassment, "Ioan Mincu" University of Architecture and Urbanism - two reported cases and one self-report, Technical University of Cluj-Napoca - one report. Two more cases were registered at the "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University in Iaşi, two cases at the "Gh. A worrying map of abusers, which should not exist in a civilized world.
