EnglishThe vacation budgets of more than half of the Romanians have been affected by the ongoing financial crisis, according to an online poll made by TravelBiz in mid-August 2009. Some 55.7% of the respondents said the crisis had forced them not to go on vacation at all (12.3%), or postpone it for wintertime (4.4%) or, in the best case, choose a less expensive destination (39%).
Only 15% of the Romanians said they had not yet felt the effects of the financial crisis, while 47% of the respondents said they had managed not to cut their spending, but would have to do so in the near future in order to adapt their budgets to the new circumstances.
Some 53% of the respondents said they usually went on vacation via a travel agency, while 75.76% of them said they preferred full-service packages.
