Croitoru: I have been working on the governing program

The appointed prime-minister, Lucian Croitoru, said on Saturday, in a press conference, that in the time elapsed since his appointment as prime minister, he worked on the governing program together with his colleagues in the NBR.

"I want to assure everyone that the governing program will be in line with Romania"s agreements with the EU, the IMF and the World Bank, but since it is written for the next four years, it is also in line with the national plan for development and with the EU convergence program"", said Croitoru, quoted by Agerpres. He showed that the governing program revolves around people he trusts, experts of the NBR.

"I have worked with Laurian Lungu, a top economist. I have worked and I am still working with Aurelian Dochia. I also have colleagues in the NBR that I believe in"", Croitoru said.

• There is a risk of Romania not receiving the third tranche of the loan

The appointed prime-minister, Lucian Croitoru, said on Saturday, that Romania runs the risk of not receiving the third installment of the IMF loan if the conditions of the loan agreement are not met.

He also added that the international financing agreements are the main reason why he accepted the prime-minister position, and he said that he could come up with new anti-crisis measures if the IMF would deem such steps necessary.

"The main reason I accepted the nomination is the fact that we need to access the loan from the EU and the IMF, which can only be done if all the terms of the agreement are met. We run the risk of losing the loan otherwise. That is what I"m trying to avoid. You know that when the IMF came to Romania and found that the evolution of the economy does not match the hypotheses in the agreement there were adjustments made, but I won"t talk about those now"", Croitoru said.
