Romania ranks 8th among the retailers" options for expansion, with Russia ranking first and the Czech Republic second, according to a report by realtor Cushman&Wakefield presented at the opening of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
"The development of the retail market internationally, as well as the numerous projects announced so far turn Romania into an increasingly more attractive destination for retailers," said Cushman&Wakefield Head of Research Yvonne Court quoted by NewsIn.
The report indicates that 80% of the retailers prefer to enter a new market through a proprietary network, whereas 20% prefer joint ventures with a local partner. The International Council of Shopping Centers established a presence in Romania in July. It is a not-for-profit association with over 70,000 members in 100 countries.
